Only one electricity supplier in UK is rated as supplying 100% green electricity

Which one ?

All UK electricity suppliers are obliged by government to obtain an increasing amount of the electricity they sell from renewable sources, rising from the present 9.1% to 15.4% in 2015-16, and from then up to 30-35%..

Most green tariffs available will claim to supply 100% green electricity but this does not necessarily mean  that by selecting one of these tariffs your supplier will do anything more than meet its legal obligation. It may simply apportion the green electricity it is already obliged to supply to its green tariff customers

It is important therefore that those who do choose green tariffs are guaranteed that they are signing up to something that really does encourage their supplier to go beyond their legal obligation, especially if it involves paying extra

A report by the National Consumer Council found that Good Energy's tariff was the only one to receive three unqualified ticks against it's own criteria, and that it was probably the closest consumers would get to 'a green energy supply pure and simple'..that is confirmed by the official Fuel Mix Disclosure..

We have built up a relationship with MCS installers in many parts of the South West and can now offer access to the network to our consumers - we are always interested in hearing from MCS installers who have perhaps recently come on stream or existing ones who would like to know about new territory possibilities.

We spend as much time with consumers as they need to fully grasp the ins and out of generating electricity, and present them to the MCS installer with all the fundamental questions answered, so saving the MCS installer’s valuable time.

Which PV Installer ?

Your solar photovoltaic installation needs to be connected to the National Grid by an  installer accedited by the MCS for your utility to be able to pay to you the FeedIn Tariff and for certainty that the work is carried out correctly..

Is your Installer MCS Accredited  ?

" The Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) is an independent scheme, approved by government,  that certifies microgeneration products and installers in accordance with consistent standards

" It is designed to evaluate microgeneration products and installers against robust criteria providing greater protection for consumers. It provides assurance that the installer is competent to a high standard and that the installation work will be carried out to a high level of quality

" The MCS scheme (Low Carbon Buildings Programme) is the only certification scheme to cover all microgeneration products and services, and has support from the Department of Energy and Climate Change, industry and non-governmental groups as a prime method for making a substantial contribution to cutting the UK's dependency on fossil fuels and carbon dioxide emissions"
